Case 01 - 21 y/o female with left hip pain 2038901
MSK HIP MODULE
BY MICHAEL L. CHIOU
Case 1: 21 year old female soccer player with hip pain, concerning for a labral tear.
Discussion (click here) - Prominent edema is seen tracking along the lateral aspect of the greater trochanter and around the gluteus medius tendon, although without a discrete tear, compatible with PERITENDINITIS AND TROCHANTERIC BURSITIS.
- A small cleft in the posterosuperior labrum extending above the expected posterior attachment of the transverse ligament could represent chondrolabral separation or sulcus. This is not necessarily a pathological finding.
- A fat-containing lesion incidentally noted in the right adnexa likely represents a dermoid. Don't forget your satisfaction of search in these cases!
