Bone marrow assessment should be performed on both marrow and fluid sensitive sequences. In the coronal plane, the larger medial femoral condyle (MFC) can be identified adjacent to the vastus medialis muscle which is also larger than the lateralis. The medial compartment then can be identified, as well as the medial collateral ligament.
